![]() ![]() What am I missing here? Should I use better wire than speaker wire to link the pins? Any help is greatly appreciated. Pins 7 and 8 in the other reader are already soldered together. I connected speaker wire from pin 2 to pins 17 and 20 but that didn't change anything. But the Factory Defaults Reset button is grayed out and I am unable to select it. When I try to change the VIN, I go into the IKE, and select "Write FGSTNR", I enter the last six of my VIN and then it gives me a message that says "For this algorithm use the function "Factory defaults" and then write FGSTNR". I have read and read and read threads about this. I was able to correct the mileage on the cluster to match my original mileage, but my problem is correcting the VIN on the IKE. Lets do the work of the Hardware vendor that should maintain the windows 10 compatibility and sign the drivers. We need to manipulate the inf files on the directory. In my case the problem was the drivers itself, and the trick is we fabricate our own drivers its just unsigned. Now I managed to get PA Soft running on Windows 7. Installing BMW Scanner 1.4 (PA Soft) drivers on Windows 10 build 2004. Then I realized the IKE on my old car is still read through the 20-pin OBD port under the hood. ![]() I bought the PA Soft 1.4.0 scanner on EBay. I now have the wrong odometer reading and tamper dot. I had to replace the cluster in my 2000 E46 328i recently.
